What is Potica?

Potica (poe-TEE-tsah) is a traditional rolled pastry originating in Slovenia and passed down through generations. Made from delicate dough and rich fillings, it’s carefully rolled by hand into thin layers, then baked to create its signature swirl and depth of flavor. It’s a time-honored specialty often served for holidays, gatherings, and meaningful family moments. 

Rolled by Hand

  Each potica begins with delicate dough rolled thin by hand, then carefully layered with rich fillings. Here, half raspberry walnut and half traditional walnut are spread before the slow hand-rolling begins — one careful layer at a time. 

Traditional & Inspired Flavors

  Our potica begins with the traditional walnut filling at its core, with select flavors like apple (pictured) layered in for added depth. A standalone hazelnut option is also available, along with heritage-inspired and seasonal flavors such as chocolate, lemon, blueberry, raspberry, and poppy seed — all handcrafted using the same time-honored process. Flavors and availability can vary.

Storage, Freezer Tips & Serving Size

Potica is best enjoyed fresh, but it also stores beautifully for later.

  • At room temperature (wrapped well), potica stays fresh for 3–5 days.
  • For more extended storage, potica can be refrigerated or frozen.
  •  When wrapped tightly and sealed in an airtight container or freezer bag, it can be frozen for up to 2–3 months.
  • To serve, thaw at room temperature or in the refrigerator. For a warm, just-baked feel, gently warm slices in the oven wrapped in foil.
  • Potica is baked as a 10-inch loaf. When sliced at approximately ¾-inch thick, each loaf yields about 13 servings. 

How to Order

 Potica is handcrafted in small batches and requires advance notice due to its time-intensive, hand-rolled process.

  1. Browse our potica flavors and options.
  2. Complete the Order Request Form on our website with your desired flavor(s), quantity, and preferred pickup date.
  3. Cindy will personally follow up within 48 hours to:
    • Confirm availability
    • Finalize pickup timing
    • Share your order total and payment details (Pricing starts at $19.99 for a 10 inch loaf.)

Recommended lead time:
Please allow 5–7 days’ notice for most orders. Holiday orders, larger quantities, and custom requests may require additional time.

Once confirmed, your potica will be handcrafted fresh and ready for pickup at the arranged time.
